Tobi Gottfried owner of the Kite & Windsurf school in Theologos beach since 2011, decided to turn the ultimate holiday experience into reality, so in 2018 he launched Logos Beach Village a unique glamping project right above the surf school. Tobi Gottfried believes that ” When people plan their holidays, they first look for a place to stay, then how to get to the destination and finally the activities they can do there to get away from the routine”.
So Logos Beach Village was created to be an alternative glamping site in Greece, combining glamping tents with learning water sports, achieving a complete experience for visitors.
Tobi adds “Almost all of our guests come for water sports, either because it is their hobby and they love it, or because they would like to experience it. We used to book them into other accommodation to make it easier for them before we upgraded our business, but now they can stay in our own luxury safari tent and that makes it even better.”
The combination of water sports and family holidays is the golden mean. We attracted a lot of visitors because of the water sports school. The glamping tents added the finishing touch to create an atmosphere of family warmth and carefree living.”
A glamping business can contribute to existing, local tourism businesses and broaden the ideas of those who have a business in tourism and beyond.
“The permit for glamping and safari tents, the transport and the completion of the process seemed like a challenge at the beginning. This was understandable” says Tobi, “It was our first attempt to complete a project like this, except that you don’t stop the whole process if you get a permit and order the safari tents. The inside of the tents and every detail has to be under construction before the operation can start.” While he adds, “After placing our first order and setting up our first glamping tents, we learned to calculate the shipping the exterior design and construction process for our next glamping investments.”
Authenticity is the key element of Logos Beach Village. Tobi’s goal was to create a glamping business. “It wasn’t easy at first, but we wanted to do something special. We are basically the first official glamping on the island and one of the few businesses with glamping tents in Greece“.
Tobi elaborates that “Glamping is becoming more and more popular because people want to experience an alternative way of holidaying, different food and generally get away from the routine and the usual”. For all this the answer is glamping because it combines nature with luxury and comfort. “Every year we renew ourselves based on the wishes of our customers, but also on our intuition. We understand that our clients prioritise privacy and the aesthetics of the accommodation, which suits the layout of the safari tents as they are located far away from each other, something that differentiates us from a hotel where each room is connected to another. We focus on privacy and the right layout because we believe it is the future.”
After Tobi decided to buy glamping tents and start a glamping business, he had to get the safari tents. “I visited two companies, but in the end I chose YALA because of the beautiful showroom and the pleasant communication with sales manager. He really won me over and has continued to do so since our first project when we started working together until today, we have a very good contact”.
Another advantage of working with YALA is the adaptability of the designs. “At the time, we wanted to customize the designs to make our 13 most dreamed of glamping tents even more luxurious.” Logos Beach Village explored the flexible possibilities of YALA’s safari tents in their construction. “Ultimately, it was a big investment, but because we chose to configure the space and focus on privacy, our guests are also willing to visit us at a cost. Just as you would open any business, this investment needs a good business plan.” The combination of the water sports school and a glamping business turned out to be a good investment. “It works because people who like watersports also like this style of holiday.” To give guests the best possible experience, Logos Beach Village always includes breakfast for guests. Glamping has proved successful for Logos Beach Village and they are already experimenting with new tent purchases. “We are doing great, in the future I would like to expand the site further with more to install more glamping tents”.
